Need to get away? Find an escape at The Hot Spot, an underrated place to take a momentary reprieve from all that life can throw at you. The coffee is cheap, the chairs stiff, and the pastries satisfactory, but the draw of the establishment is what you don't pay for. Pay a bit closer attention and you may notice the loitering clientele have a bit of an alertness about them you wouldn't expect from your average Joe looking for a caffeinated beverage. And does it seem as if the manager occasionally ushers the odd customer into the back, only for them to never remerge?

Stationed close to the dead center of the Down, easily overlooked with its plain, almost run-down exterior, duck into the Hot Spot when you find yourself between a fire and frying pan. When placed in the hands of the well-intentioned staff, your safe passage back home is their ultimate goal. And, hey, the coffee is always piping.
